The Sarajevo team, from the Sustainable Development Department, participated in the partner meeting in Ptuj as part of the RealUrbanGreen project (Interreg Euro-MED). During the visit, we presented our local pilot project and planned investment, and took part in hands-on testing of citizen science tools.
These tools allow citizens and experts to collect data on urban green spaces – including soil quality, noise levels, shading, biodiversity, and other ecological parameters. Testing them on site with project partners and the University of Valencia team helped us learn how to better assess spaces and plan their improvement.
These methods will soon be applied in Sarajevo, where the same tools will be used to gather clear, measurable data and actively involve the community in improving urban green spaces.
