The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo, invites domestic and international architects, urban planners, landscape architects, as well as architecture and design students to participate in an open, two-level, international, anonymous competition ) for the conceptual design of the park "Hastahana" in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Participants are invited to submit innovative, nature-inspired and guided solutions for urban regeneration and activation of public space known as "Hastahana" - emblematic locations in the heart of Sarajevo, where significant historical periods of the city overlap.
The submitted proposals for conceptual solutions will be considered by an international five-member jury composed of relevant renowned experts. This Call for Ideas, organized in the form of an Innovation Challenge, aims to select three finalists, who will be awarded as described further in this paper.
The three best-ranked conceptual design proposals will be awarded under this Call for Ideas / Innovation Challenge as further described in this document.
After that, the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo will publish these three best-ranked ideas and invite the citizens of Sarajevo to vote online for the selection of the desired proposal. The municipality intends to support the implementation of the proposal that receives the largest number of votes of citizens and invite the author to further develop the conceptual design of urban transformation of public space "Hastahana" in 2022.
