Representatives of the City of Sarajevo, through the Service for Sustainable Development, are currently taking part in the URBACT Pioneers Accelerator Milestone Event in Ljubljana. This gathering brings together 27 European cities to share knowledge and exchange experiences, all with the aim of strengthening sustainable practices in local communities.
A highlight of today’s agenda is “Ljubljana – Vision of the City – Strategies for Change”, where the host city is showcasing its approach to building a sustainable vision for the future.
Maruška Markovčič presented the Bee Path, which started as a small grassroots idea and grew into an integrated city strategy – showing how citizens and institutions can jointly shape greener and more resilient urban spaces.
Lea Korva introduced Mission 100, a project that brings together citizens, businesses, and local government through participatory initiatives on circular economy, urban greening, and climate resilience.
By engaging in this programme, the City of Sarajevo is joining peers from across Europe in shaping visions and setting goals for a future where cities are sustainable, fair, and responsive to the needs of their citizens. 🌿
