Representatives of the City of Sarajevo - the Department for Sustainable Development, attended the 3rd BAUHAUS4MED Project Meeting, held on December 3-4, 2024, at the Impact Hub Athens. This meeting gathered partners from various European countries to discuss the project's goals and progress, and to collaboratively work on creating sustainable and smart urban solutions.
As an active partner in the project, the City of Sarajevo had the opportunity to present the activities carried out so far within the framework of BAUHAUS4MED. The representatives from Sarajevo shared experiences and best practices in the implementation of sustainable urban solutions, as well as the challenges encountered during the implementation process. This two-day project meeting was a key opportunity to deepen international cooperation, engage in dialogue about future steps in the project, and define new strategies for advancing sustainable development.
One of the key moments of the meeting was the visit to the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in Athens, which serves as a successful example of sustainable building and NEB solutions. Partners had the opportunity to explore this environmentally friendly infrastructure and learn about its various aspects of sustainability, including the National Library of Greece, the sustainable olive grove, and the Stavros Niarchos Park.
This meeting was a crucial opportunity for enhancing collaboration among partners, exchanging knowledge, and further defining the next steps. Participants also discussed the methodology and tools to be used for implementing sustainable solutions in various cities and regions.
The City of Sarajevo is pleased to announce that it will host the next BAUHAUS4MED project meeting in April 2025. Sarajevo will have the honor of welcoming all partners and continuing its work on the development of innovative and sustainable solutions for urban development, which will contribute to environmental preservation and improve the quality of life for citizens.
