The City of Sarajevo, through the City Department for Sustainable Development, is part of the prestigious consortium of the Commit2Green project: Participatory Urban Greening and Renaturation, which aims to achieve climate neutrality and increase the resilience of European cities to climate change. The project, funded by the HORIZON Europe program, brings together leading cities that strive to improve public spaces with a focus on green interventions.
At the initial meeting held in Berlin, the pilot cities shared their experiences and key challenges in the fight for climate neutrality, as well as their vision for transforming public spaces. Over the next four years, Sarajevo, alongside cities like Warsaw, Barcelona, Milan, Thessaloniki, The Hague, Mannheim, and Vejle, will participate in testing and implementing the best solutions for the green transformation of public spaces. Through these interventions, the goal is to mitigate the effects of climate change and achieve more sustainable urban development.
