From May 21–23, Sarajevo proudly hosted the 3rd #EuropeanHeritageHub Peer Learning Visit 🇧🇦, with support from the City of Sarajevo and organized by Eurocities. The visit was guided by Dr. Amra Hadžimuhamedović, member of the Hub Advisory Council.
Sarajevo’s story is one of transformation — shaped by empires, challenged by conflict, yet resilient through every era. Its unique blend of cultures, religions, and traditions makes it a powerful symbol of unity in diversity and a truly European city.
Over 2.5 days, 19 participants from 12 countries came together to exchange insights and experiences on urban heritage, post-conflict recovery, and community-driven innovation. Through site visits and discussions, they explored how Sarajevo’s deeply rooted cultural resilience supports inclusive and sustainable urban development.
Key highlights included visits to Vijećnica, Baščarsija, Svrzina kuća, the War Childhood Museum, and final reflections at the Olympic Museum Sarajevo.
A huge thank you to all partners, experts, and local hosts who helped make this visit a meaningful exchange of knowledge, experience, and hope for the future of cultural heritage.
