The City of Sarajevo, through the City Service for Sustainable Development, took part in the inaugural consortium meeting of the international project Bauhaus Bites, held in Fundão, Portugal from 11–13 June 2025.
Over the course of three days, project partners from across Europe shared progress and future plans for transforming urban food systems into models that are more inclusive, sustainable, and aesthetically enriching. The programme included thematic workshops, knowledge exchange, and study visits aligned with Nature-Based Solutions and the values of the New European Bauhaus initiative.
Participants visited the Fundão AgroTech Centre, an experimental farm, and the municipal restaurant — a site that will be redesigned within the project to become a more inclusive, functional, and sustainable community space. In a symbolic gesture, the project also became a "godparent" of a cherry tree, underscoring its commitment to nature regeneration and local food identity.
As a project partner, the City of Sarajevo continues to engage in cross-border cooperation and promote innovative approaches to sustainable urban development.
